Contemporary technique is simultaneously both grounding and incredibly freeing, and as a result supports the progression of technical proficiency in a range of dance styles. An amalgamation of Cunningham and Release-Based Technique, contemporary students will explore the use of the spine in movement, giving into and resisting gravity, expanding and contracting movements and floor work, to mention a few areas of study. Each lesson, which is suitable for those at secondary school and college, consists of a range of technique and creative exercises, culminating in a dance which is built upon for a number of weeks.
